A Word FromHello all, in light of the recent balance update, we're going to be posting a TPC reaction to the Banlist Changes and how the current Tier List is affected as opposed to your regular Tier List Content.
Tier 1
TPC Comments
The only "hits" Hero received is Loading... and Loading... to 3. Basically this means you play 2 Stratos and 1 Liquid (with 3 Loading... to help with consistency). Players may opt to run 2 or maybe even 3 Loading... to help facilitate draws if necessary. No more Limit 3's in the deck removes Loading... (and any Limit 3 staples like Loading... / Loading... , which most lists were already shifting away from). I expect HEROs to still do HERO things considering they received no hits to their Skill or any Limit 2 hits to remove Loading... , Loading... and/or Loading... . Expect to see this deck still carry on (just a bit less consistently).
Tke hits to Loading... and Loading... affects HEROs in the following ways:
The consistency is reduced as the probability of drawing them going first has gone down (also their follow-up is impactec since most players will likely run 2 Stratos 1 Liquid).
Nobody will be able to run Limit 3 techs (Loading... / Loading... ) or defensive cards (Loading... , however they still have Loading... , Loading... and/or Loading... )
In conclusion, HERO players will need to ensure they dont brick (perhaps by running 3 Loading... and 3 Loading... ) while also managing their resources during the game (as the second Stratos can no longer search a second Liquid Soldier). Also since HEROs still have 3 Loading... and Loading... , it will still have the same power level as they did previously.
HEROs have not received a huge hit: they will do the same things as before. The nerfs make it so they have only five Loading... instead of six, and while losing 2 Loading... is huge, it can easily supplement that with a smaller deck size and/or more copies of Loading... . If anything, one of the more annoying Stratos plays (popping backrow) should be less common considering they will need to search for Liquid Soldier more often than not. The nerfs are not enough by any means, but decks on the fringe like Battlin' Boxer and Dragonmaid might have a better chance at competing.
HERO received consistency hits, which make the already questionable 30-card builds practically impossible to run now. The deck has also lost access to its Limit 3 techs, so it will probably have to rely on Loading... and Limit 2 Damage prevention even more than it already has. Aside from that, the deck hasn't lost any power, so I erxpect to still see it competing for a slot in Tier 1.
Loading... to 1 ensures it's removed from the deck (as Loading... is to good in the deck to ever remove). No Fowl means backrow could be a little bit better into Salamangreat (although they don't really have issues playing into backrow disruption even without Gowl). This is definitely still the best deck and will carry on as such. The backrow would need to be so impactful that the lack of Fowl would feel meaningful. I can't see anything that stands close to Salamangreat (even without Fowl). I would also expect techs like Loading... and Loading... to see more play now that Fowl has been removed.
The hit to Loading... will prevent Salamangreat from stopping backrow with their free summon, but it owon't stop Salamangreat from being the best deck for the time being, since the deck can still deal with backrow (even without Fowl) and have guaranteed consistency with Soulburning Link
