Notes & Combos

Hello again everyone, it's your favorite rank one Altergeist player here, Crimson Reaper 5, back at it again. In this decklist, I was able to go completely undefeated from stage 19 to max in my November 2024 KC Cup climb. I'm not quite sure what I think of the current format aside from the format being quite unfun right now. I faced so many Sky Striker players and even ran the risk of a demotion match, but thankfully I somehow kept winning the demotion games until I finally got an explosive winstreak to max out and be free from the KC Cup stress.

The meta right now has a LOT of Lyrilusc in it and that's by far my hardest matchup next to Sky Strikers, so I'm praying Lyrilusc gets hit on the next banlist. Otherwise, the meta isn't that bad for Altergeists to handle. Predaplants aren't an issue since that deck isn't good into backrow-heavy decks and all other matchups felt quite playable barring Sky Strikers and Lyrilusc.

For my tech choices, I changed some stuff around. First off, I removed two Compulsory Evacuation Device for two copies of the new limit 3 backrow, Lost Wind, because I think negates are just better right now over hard removal. Lost Wind is also quite good in the sense that the negate is permanent so keep that in mind. In addition, Lost Wind recycles itself if your opponent attemtsp an Extra Deck play, which is good since the extra Lost Winds you get back is essentially just extra fuel for Multifaker combos, and extra negates you can use at your leisure. I was trying x3 Lost Wind, but it got clunky and there were times where my backrow was clogged with too many Lost Wind, so I think two Lost Wind and one Compulsory Evacuation Device is fine for my ratios.

As for my other tech cards, everything else is standard. I love playing Pookuery because the card is precious to me next to Altergeist Malwisp and Memorygant I play as a finisher because I love her card art. As for alternate art Number 107: Galaxy-Eyes Tachyon Dragon, that's just a flex because I whaled on the Anniversary Box thrice and felt the flex was needed in my Altergeist list. I don't play Tachyon, but I wanted to make use of my alternate art purchase so what better way than to stick the alternate art in my Altergeist deck, am I right?

To max out, my past five games were consisted of Blue-Eyes White Dragon Battle Chronicle (DSOD Yugi), Immortal Cyber Style (Zane), Immortal Cyber Style (Zane), Sacred Beast Beckoning (Yubel), and my rank-up game Tenyi (Yuri).
