Notes & Combos

I got to DLv. Max once again in the KC Cup. This was a chance for me to pilot a 30 card DM deck and do some various play testing to formulate a new strategy for my next KoG deck. I also wanted to see how a 30 card DM deck would perform. Some notes:

  • Droplet is very good when you have a hand full of cards that you cannot really do much with and is such a good interruption card
  • Dark Magic Inheritance is somewhat good, but the Spell in itself is a band-aid to a very inconsistent/poorly built deck. If you open it and have no way to get 2 Spells into the GY, it’s a dead card. The only reason I ran it was to play test and see how it performed, plus it’s very searchable with the Skill. In various scenarios, it helped me set up some really nice boards. In others, it cost me the match. I still think that Inheritance causes more problems than it does create good results.
  • Book of Eclipse still continues to be one of the best Spells in the game right now. From locking up your opponent’s zones, to protecting your monsters from IDP and removing effects any monsters have gained from other monsters (looking at your Lyrilusc)
  • This deck is the brickiest deck I have ever ran. If you have no way to get to DM, you instantly lose the game. If you have Circle and can see that the top 3 cards are not DM itself or ways to get into DM & and you have no interruptions in hand, you instantly lose the game. It happens way too much and is kind of ridiculous. Where's my Illusion of Chaos at Konami?

DM is not very viable at 30 cards. I do not recommend putting yourself through pain like I did.
