Notes & Combos
Dark Magician comes charging out and into full force! This KC Cup was a very tough one and gave me the opportunity to show what Book of Eclipse + attacking every monster with piercing damage can do! Here's some notes about my climb:
- Book of Eclipse is one of the best non-targeting spells I've ever used and works well with this Skill. Ramming into every single face-down is highly addictive, though it will backfire if you can't out your opponent's monsters.
- Lyrilusc was tough to beat, but they are beatable. I lost many matches, but managed to win some. Book of Eclipse is the best way to temporarily switch off any targeting/switch protection they have, but it will not stop them from being treated as Xyz Summoned when being flipped back up during the End Phase. Big Eye stealing a face-down Assembled Nightingale or Recital Starling (if they don't have Nightingale) is hilarious to pull off and pretty much necessary
- Absolutely hated VSing Time Thief. Can't recall a single match where I won, since they can setup their counter trap, steal the top card from your deck, setup a non-targeting face-up return effect AND have other backrow + interruptions to deal with as well. Double Book of Eclipse or BoE + Circle + Double DM seems to be the only way to out the deck in Bane of Darkness without losing too many of your resources.
- I didn't face Windwitch or Gaia much, so I can't really form a proper opinion about them. From the matches I did have against them, they don't seem to be too difficult to handle.
- 9 Extra Deck is insanely good! I completely changed my Link Monster package just so I could deal with the targeting protection that decks were constantly spitting out. It is very monster heavy however and you can end up going without a single monster left on the field by the time you use Ningirsu's effect.
