Notes & Combos
One of my favorite decks finally got new support! Haine and Creation are fantastic cards that boost both its power and consistency, while Holiday being now unlimited gives us access to Charge of the Light Brigade again, which can generate a lot of advantage. This deck is very fun, but also pretty hard and complicated, as I found myself running out of time a lot while playing it. Here is an explanation for the choices behind the decklist, as well as some tips and cool interactions.
Skill:
Show of Nightmares is my preferred skill. I have tried Grit, but I never seemed to make a comeback with it.
- Show of Nightmares lets you put a brick back into the deck, while also getting a free spell.
- If you open both copies of Charge, you can activate one to mill 3, add Lyla, ativate the skill to put back Lyla in the Deck and then activate the 2nd copy of Charge to mill again. Even if you only open 1 Charge, sometimes you'll get lucky and add it back to the hand from the GY with the skill.
Main Deck:
Witchcrafter plays quite few bricks (Verre, Haine, Lyla and Masterpiece) while also having a lot of redundancy, so I'm playing 30 cards. Opening multiple monsters is not ideal, but opening none is an auto-loss, so that's why I play 7 low level Witchcrafters for a total of 10 starters with Creation, which I think is a good sweetspot.
- 1 Verre and 1 Haine to minimize bricks. There are some times where I wished I had a 3rd boss (e.g. opponent can threaten both but you still have Masterpiece in the GY), but overall I'm happy with 1 copy of each. Also I don't have a 2nd Haine.
- Potterie is situationally good to get back a used spell or a Patronus sent with Schmietta.
- Lyla is slightly better than Raiden imo. Don't really need a 2nd target thanks to the skill.
- Unveiling being unrespondable is very useful in some matchups (Tenyi, Speedroid), also it can be set if I know the opponent has bouncing effects.
- Metalfoes Fusion is a free discard and Destruction Swordsman Fusion can trade a monster in my hand for a spell. The latter used to be Machine Angel Ritual, honestly both are good options imo.
Extra Deck:
Linkuriboh and Artemis are good because they're easy ways to get a Witchcrafter in the GY and use its effect, the rest are just good generic monsters that help breaking boards once I accumulate enough advantage to summon them. I never summoned Dark Rebellion once, so it probably should be replaced, but I don't know what else I could play instead.
