Notes & Combos

Quite your typical resonator deck, but I added in a few niche cards for some counterplay, most notably being Enemy Controller (second effect). I found quite a bit of scenarios where Econ Take was a good answer to strong turn 1 plays, especially against Speedroids with Crystal Wing, Odd Eyes with Roach, and even Orcusts with Dingirsu. Mirror and Synkron resonator both serve as possible tuners with any level 8 synchro going into Tyrant RDA. In addition, I also encountered a number of situations where crackdown and mirror resonator both comboed fairly well, using the opponent's material in order for your own synchro summon (Crackdown Clear Wing Dragon or activating mirror resonator to copy a level 4 on the field, then using crackdown on the level 4 to synchro into DED). These scenarios are quite niche, but they do come in handy whenever the opportunity comes. Much of this deck is heavily reliant on disrupting opponent's board setup and getting red reign out ASAP. Skull Meister does extremely well in the current meta, disrupting orcust and destiny heroes, and possibly slowing Speedroids, if not disrupting their turn 1 board setup. Floodgate Trap Hole can honestly be replaced for any other staple backrow, such as an additional Book of Moon, Cyclone, or Ice Dragon's Prison.

Typical turn 1 involves getting Scarlight into the field, while getting Red Reign onto the field via skill or starting draw. If you happen to have three monsters in your starting draw, at least one of them being Wildwind, it is possible to get out Scarlight and Void Ogre with a Red Reign on turn 1. Pop the skill to get one of the monsters in your hand and crimson into the grave (make sure you leave at least one Wildwind in your hand). Go into your usual combo to bring out Scarlight, then use skill to set Red Reign onto the field, sending back the other monster in your hand into the deck. Then you can use your last Wildwind to special summon and synchro into Void Ogre. If your starting hand is one monster and three backrow (none of them being Red Reign), I typically resort to bringing out Void Ogre directly and just pray.
