Pyro is the new best deck!

I personally like a lot strategies revolving around Normal monsters and Secret Order, and I am a FIRE lover too (had some pyromaniac tendencies, testified as a proficient Magic: The Gathering Burn player in all possible formats). Therefore, I fell in love with this deck when I saw it and needed to try it for a King of Games run.

In the current scenario of Goha Rush Cup coming soon and with the competition being more intense these days, the deck performed very well. I got to Gold 5 in 25 wins and got to King of Games in 11 more wins, which is nice total of 36 wins (at least I needed less wins than most of my previous King of Games seasons)!

I played Voidvelg for King of Games last month and liked it for its linearity and firepower. Pyro has more firepower and more ways to cheat your boss monsters in the game with Ember and Secret Order, so it is a similar strategy but more consistent and resilient.

The added consistency might be caused by the Fatal Roar skill and usage of Secret Order because of packing a Normal boss monster, tied up with Ember the Hyper Assistant, and a devastating effect of Chemicalized Salamander at late game. All of this makes the deck explosive and consistent at the same time, and also easy to pilot.

With respect to the meta, I believe that Pyro has a good match-up against Gaia (probably the only deck that any other deck needs to beat right now, it has honestly become a plague), because you can outgrind them once you recover from their Polymerization turn.

Among the replays you can see 4 matches against Gaia, although in one of them the opponent surrendered on the first turn, so I guess he bricked. You'll see that enduring the Polymerization turn is what is needed to win, because Pyro has a lot more grind power, as well as being explosive in summoning boss monsters. For other decks, such as Cyber Dragon, the opponent really needs to keep up with your boss monsters, because if not then the game goes to Pyro's side very quick.

I like the deck a lot because it is explosive, consistent, and of course it is FIRE! In addition, the character aligned with the deck, Maddox Sogetsu, is a martial arts master that has an alien-hunting job, which makes it more enjoyable.

I recommend everyone to try the deck if they have the opportunity.
