Notes & Combos

Not many changes from my previous list. There are some cards that I can definitely see getting changed out. In particular I really want 2 copies of Book of Eclipse. That would help so much against certain boards and even in the mill aspects at times. Floodgate Trap Holes cut and maybe the copy of Vanish that gets cut for Renovation.

My change is basically taking out Yuki-onna for the third copy of Specter, which is really strong and ups the count for the skill. In the extra deck I changed out the second copy of Socuteboss for Dullahan as the second copy has never come up for me without Renovation.

My thoughts on Renovation is that it is a very powerful card especially one for tagging out. You can really push an OTK with Renovation by swinging with an Angel and then tagging into a Dullahan and attacking again. However I haven't played Renovation because I don't like the emphasis it plays in the turn 1. The turn 1 or 2 dumping Renovation into an Angel search is fine. But if you think about it, even when playing around DD Crow and other banish related cards, going for 2 Angels in the opening is redundant. The detach for Angel searches one Ghostrick S/T and the Alucard/Dullahan will get the one in grave. As opposed to the Renovation opening, if you send Renovation you make your Angel and search 1 spell/trap and then banish Renovation and search your 2nd spell and trap.

I know you're open to disruption, especially on turn 2. But if you're using Renovation only for 2 Angels then you're still open to similar negations, DD Crow targeting Renovation/Recursion target and Veiler. You're getting 2 cards in both setups, just one has additional recursion on followup turns. Renovation's true strength aside from getting other field spells is the versatility you get from tagging out and avoiding some targeting while getting you more uses out of Dullahan and Alucard.

I played a lot more Ghostrick players this time during my grind and by playing more defensive and managing my resources I usually had the upperhand against them. I have been playing this mirror match for a long time now and thank goodness we don't have Ghostrick Night or this could've been more miserable.

I feel like I get a lot of use out of Socuteboss in the grind game, that the other builds won't as often. Summon Breaker is a really strong control tool and is one I also see in other builds. However it hurts some specific game plans as you do have to flip summon which counts towards the summon
