Whoa boy, this was a rough one, but thank goodness I finished this month before the new structure deck hits! Windwitch has a terrible going 1st matchup against HERO what with their non-interactive Super Poly setup OR the fact that they’re also somehow allowed to turbo out Armed Dragon way better than any of Chazz’s skills for some reason (the fact that Jaden’s skill is named after a card Chazz used in the manga, where he doesn’t even play Armed Dragons, is just extra salt in the wound). Because of this, I swapped out 2 Cosmic Cyclone for 2 Forbidden Lance in the hopes to protect at least one of my monsters from being succ’d away by Super Poly in Draw Phase, but usually HERO players just open Droplet anyway and get first crack at activating it. I lost to a HERO player who Dropelted for 3 and was still able to OTK through 3 monsters with only Stratos in hand, it’s crazy!

That said, I did manage an 8-win streak from Legends 4-5, losing my first KOG match against Sharks because I always forget where to use my Dragon's negates against them (HINT: it's Utopic Lancer because otherwise your whole board is gonna get destroyed!). Thankfully my next KOG match was much more concise.

NOTE: with the release of Invoked Raidjin, I did experiment with Invoked Windwitch for the first 1-2 days of this season for that 2018 anti-meta throwback, but I can confirm it’s vastly inferior to the pure variant because of the normal summon restriction on Winter Bell Accel AND because both Mechaba and Crystal Wing are both Limited. So for now, the pure variant is the best version of the deck going forward, but I wouldn’t recommend using it until the upcoming Tier 0 format is over.
